Obituary of Loretta Myers

Loretta Catherine Myers (nee Krupa) Loretta Catherine Myers, age 84 of Ocean View, NJ was called home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 20, 2017. Loretta was born on February 11, 1933 in Philadelphia, PA and was the daughter of the late John Krupa and late Catherine Ramsz Krupa both of Philadelphia, PA. Family was Loretta's greatest joy. She valued her family and her Christian faith above all else. Whether celebrating holidays, events or accomplishments she was always there to show her love and support. Affectionately known as "Granny" or Gran, her favorite days were spent "at the shore" jumping waves with her 5 precious grandchildren. Together they would walk and look for shells. Granny was their confidante and advisor, always showering them with unconditional love. Most of Loretta's career was in retail sales including furniture sales. Even with a demanding work schedule, she still made time for home cooked family dinners. She loved to travel and was able to take several wonderful island vacations, enjoying a diversity of beaches and cultures. Loretta was very patriotic and in her earlier years volunteered with the USO, dancing to entertain US service members. She was also extremely proud of her Polish-American heritage. In recent years, she was actively involved at her Residence. She enjoyed dancing to the visiting string bands, as well as participating in the Garden Club and cooking goodies for the local homeless shelter. She also enjoyed monthly Texas Hold 'Em poker nights at her Residence. Her other love was a hot slot machine in Atlantic City, NJ. She was hoping to hit the big payout. Loretta fully embodied the values of Faith, Love and Generosity. Fun loving and full of hearty laughter, Loretta brought joy to all those around her. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Stanley Krupa, Edward Krupa, Robert Krupa, Joseph Krupa and Thomas Krupa; and sisters Florence Marzo, Mary Szajdek and Agnes Wroblewski. She is survived by daughters Audrey Palumbo of Mays Landing NJ, Pamela Sano and husband Matthew of Sewell NJ, and Lorraine Darwin and husband Robert of Knoxville TN; grandchildren Tara Wong and husband Eric, Phillip Palumbo and wife Kait, Kristen Sano, Taylor Sano and Caroline Darwin; greatgrandchildren Amy Palumbo and Willa Wong; sisters Catherine Casey and Carrie Schwarzmann; and numerous neices, nephews and extended family members. The family will receive relatives and friends Friday morning June 9th 2017 10:30-11:00AM St Simon Stock Parish Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 178 W. White Horse Pike Berlin, NJ 08009. Memorial Mass 11:00AM. Cremation and interment will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Loretta's honor be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
