Obituary of Mary Weil
Mary Frances (Spaulding) Weil was called home to the Lord on Friday, June 1, 2018, after a long illness. She leaves behind a cherished son, Michael Scott Weil, Jr., of Evesham. She considered being a mother as one of her greatest life accomplishments. She was also a 12-year survivor of breast cancer, another great achievement – and blessing. Mary will be sadly missed by her two sisters, Rita Spaulding (Richard Winkler), of Berlin, NJ; and Barbara Spaulding (William Blythe), of Tampa, FL. She was a proud aunt to Rita’s children, Kyle, Kerry and Kara Winkler, and to Barbara’s cats and dogs. She was pre-deceased by her father, William F. Spaulding, Sr., her mother Rita DiLoretto Spaulding; a brother, William F. Spaulding, Jr.; and a faithful canine companion, Cody, who was a Sheltie.
Mary was born in Philadelphia and grew up in Edgewater Park, NJ. She spent her later years in Atco and Berlin. She attended Edgewater Park grade schools, and Holy Cross High School and Burlington County Vocation-Technical Institute. She graduated from Glassboro State University (now Rowan University) with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a major in Communications.
Her professional career included positions in corporate risk management and insurance litigation. Her work included travel to satellite locations, where she used her management skills to troubleshoot administrative and operational issues.
Mary is remembered as a prayerful soul with a generous heart, spirit, and intellect. Those in her personal orbit will for years to come recall humorous anecdotes or comments she made in her unique form of self-expression.
