Obituary of Marianne Joan Jacobs
Marianne Joan Jacobs (nee Szczepankiewicz) died peacefully at home on September 3, 2018 in Sicklerville NJ. She was 76.
Marianne was born on December 1, 1941 in Camden, NJ to her parents, Marie and Edward Szczepankiewicz. She graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in Camden, NJ in 1959 and was employed for several years by the New Jersey Bell Telephone Company. In 1962, Marianne married Robert Jacobs and together they enjoyed a happy and loving 56-year marriage.
Marianne was very involved in activities with her children, including many years of participation as a Cub Scout Den Mother and marching band booster as well as a supportive youth soccer, baseball, softball and field hockey fan and supporter. Marianne also found delight in more than two decades of participation in the “Tuesday Morning Koffee Klatch” bowling league, where she enjoyed the company of many close and supportive friends. Together with her husband, Marianne was an engaged member of the St. John Neumann R.C. Parish in Sicklerville, where she served as a CCD teacher and participated on various parish committees.
Marianne was the devoted mother of Robert Jacobs, Jr. (Rosanne) of South Amboy, NJ; Michael Jacobs (Kimberly) of Berlin, NJ, Joseph Jacobs of Chesilhurst, NJ and Kathleen Missigman, also of Berlin. Dear sister of Edward “Bud” Szczepankiewicz (Margaret), and John “Jack” Szczepankiewicz (Dawn). Beloved sister-in-law of Christina Jacobs and Joseph Jacobs (Kay). Proud grandmother of Justine, Rylee, David and Amanda, and a loving aunt to many nieces, nephews, and their children.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Friday morning 9:30AM-10:30AM at the Costantino Funeral Home, 231 W. White Horse Pike, Berlin NJ 08009. Funeral Mass 11:00AM, St. Simon Stock Parish – Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 178 White Horse Pike, Berlin, NJ 08009. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing, NJ.
