Obituary of Stanley C. Smith

Stanley C. Smith, 83 years old of Galloway Twp., formerly of Ocean City NJ, passed away peacefully on July 4th, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 24th 1936 in Scranton PA to the late Thomas E. and Edith Smith (née Bogart). Beloved husband for 54 years of the late Gay W. Smith. Loving father of Lisa (Bruce), Derek (Karen), Scott (Connie), Steven (Amy) and Mark (Susan). Dear brother of Susan S. Dreisbach (George) and his twin the late Thomas H. Smith (the late Pat). Cherished grandfather of Brandon (Brittany), Colton, Kenny (Jasmine), Emily (Dan), Hunter and Tyler, great grandfather of Trey, Lyla, Elliana, Landyn, Jasline. Uncle Stan was loved by many nieces and nephews and all their families. 

 

For the last seven years Stanley aka Dad, Poppy, G-Pop, Pops, Uncle Stan, Stan the Man, lived at Seashore Gardens Independent Housing  where he enjoyed fun events and activities with many friends that he met there. Stanley loved to celebrate holidays, birthdays, visiting his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His days of service in the United States Navy from 1953 to 1957 were his proudest moments and he enjoyed telling stories and hearing fellow veteran’s adventures. He was a member of the Ocean City Rescue squad where he was a volunteer member and served as president. He was a knowledgeable man and was always eager to learn about life’s discoveries.

 

A graveside service and interment of ashes with military honors will take place 11:30AM Friday August 9, 2019 at Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, PA.
